Never being successful

Every person has a different definition of what “success” means to them but failure is much easier to imagine.
Failure means looking into the mirror and knowing that either you never found what you were meant to do or that you weren’t able to accomplish it. Truthfully, I think that deep down, we are all terrified of failing.

Why are we so afraid of failing?

Who are we afraid we will disappoint?

The world tells us that we have to prove ourselves. So, when we don’t succeed we fear that we will not live up to others, or our own, expectations.

If that is the case, then what is our purpose, what is the point of our existence?

In the Bible we see that success or failure lies in the opinion of the One who created the world and you and me.

God does not need us to prove ourselves to Him. He already knows every detail about us, He is the one who made us, after all.

Our Creator God defines our success in life by whether we have realized our ultimate purpose in life: to know Him, to love Him and to love others.

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27)

In the world’s eyes we could be the most successful person on earth but if we do not know God we have nothing.

Likewise, in the world’s eyes we could be the very picture of failure but if we have come to God then we have succeeded.

Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me”. (John 14:6)

If you decide to hold on to the truth, if you decide to put your trust in Jesus Christ, then you will have achieved the greatest goal there is in life no matter what this broken world tells you.

Are you willing to find out what that purpose and call is?
