Because I am different than other people

It can be anything: the way you look, the things you are good at, the shape of your body, where you grew up, or even your family.
There can be so many things that make you stand out as different.

Maybe you’ve been tempted to change and make the differences less noticeable so that you can fit in and feel like you belong.

But what was the cost of that choice?

There is a pain of loneliness that comes when we realize that we are not being honest about who we really are or what we really think.

The truth is that God made us the way we are. Someone who knew this truth once wrote to God:

“…You formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.”
(Psalm 139:13-14 ESV)

But what about the broken parts, the things that are more painful?

What do they tell us about who God is? Could it be that these are also a reflection of God? How can that be?

The Bible explains that although we were formed in God’s perfect image, we rebelled and chose to go our own way. So we are marked by brokenness, which can also be called sin.

But God never intended for us to remain broken and separated from him.
In his love, God is not only able, but also willing, to heal all of our broken places and our loneliness.

Take a moment to consider: Who would want to restore our brokenness more than the One who made us in the first place?
