I believe most pain in life is caused by PEOPLE

If you look into the heartbreak behind the latest headlines, or even your own life

there must be someone responsible

What if blaming a person is like looking only at a symptom rather than the core disease?

Is it possible that beneath the pain there is a deeper cause?

Good or evil

Is it possible that what we see today — the hurt, the hatred, the death, struggle — is all a part of the longstanding battle between good and evil?

God created man and woman and there was no pain or death.

God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.

– Genesis 1:31 –

The first humans gave in to the temptation of Satan, the deceiver of the whole world .
Revelation 12:9

They acted in rebellion to God instead of trusting their Creator. This caused evil, pain and death to enter the world.
Genesis 3:1-7

Every person since has also sinned.
Ephesians 2:3; Romans 5:12

But God did not leave us a prisoner of our sin. He sent Jesus Christ to defeat sin and death and restore us to God.

For if the many died by the trespass of the one man (Adam), how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!

– Romans 5:15 –

How was this accomplished?

Jesus, the only Son of the one true God, lived a sinless life, not stained by rebellion. So, he was the only one who could pay the penalty for our sin. He allowed others to put him to death as a substitute for all of us, the ones who actually deserve it.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

– Romans 6:23 –

Jesus was victorious over our sin through his life and death. Then, by God’s power, he was raised from the dead, defeating death itself, the consequence of all sin.

So what does it all mean?

To say that bad people cause our pain is to simplify the problem. If we examine ourselves closely and honestly, we will realize that even if we consider ourselves to be good people we have also contributed to the pain experienced by ourselves and those around us.

But what if it is true that God had already launched a plan to replace suffering with joy and to defeat death and establish life forever? Wouldn’t you want to be a part of God’s plan?

Only in Jesus is there a promise of ultimate freedom from the painful consequences of our sin.

Through him, we are offered the forgiveness of God, if we will only accept and trust him as our Saviour, because “everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16b)

If you are ready to trust Jesus as your Saviour and Lord, all you have to do is reach out and talk to him. You can pray something like this:

“Dear God, thank you for your love for me. I realize that there are thoughts, words and actions in my life that are not pleasing to you, but I believe that Jesus Christ died in my place to forgive me of my sin so I can know you personally. I open my heart and ask you to live within me, helping me to live a life that is pleasing to you. I promise to worship only you as the one true, living God. Thank you for your love, for your forgiveness and for your promise of eternal life with you when this life is over. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.”
