Marriage and Children

To discover the one person you want to share your life with including all the joys and sorrows…
To raise children and see them grow up and start families of their own …

All of these are thrilling accomplishments and the source of so much joy, sense of purpose and continuity.

God is a huge fan of marriage to the point that he actually uses the relationship between a bridegroom and his bride to picture his incredible love for his people.

God will rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride. (Isaiah 62:5, NLT)

But what if you don’t find that special person?

You might have plenty of friends but no one whom you would want to spend the next several decades.

Maybe you are in an incredible relationship but for some reason you are not able to or choose to not have children.

Are you suddenly on the outside looking in when it comes to experiencing a deep and meaningful life?

Quite simply, the answer is no.

Although marriage and children can be incredible elements in a good and fulfilling life, the foundation rests on a deeper relationship.

Your love for your husband or wife is meant to be a reflection of the relationship that God has with his people.

Your love for your children actually points to the Heavenly Father. God wants you to experience his love for you just as a child experiences a parent’s love.

If I showed you an amazing photograph, you might call it beautiful yet it is only capable of evoking a sliver of the emotions possible when you stand in the scene yourself.

God created marriage and he blesses families with children as a “picture” of the love he has for you. That relationship is possible to you through his Son, Jesus.
