My Accomplishments

This would mean that your value rises based on your honorable achievements, and that’s great!
But, what if you fail? Does your value get affected? And does it change the way you see yourself, and the way society sees you?

And what about failure that results from a value that you hold on to, like integrity or honesty or sacrifice?

For example, Yasmine never graduated from Med School like the rest of her classmates because she dropped out of university during her last year. Yasmine failed in front of everyone, and did not achieve something she had been waiting for her whole life.

In this case, if Yasmine were to measure her value or worth based on her achievement, then she surely is a failure in her own eyes, and in the eyes of society.

But what people don’t know about Yasmine is that she never graduated because she decided to stay with her mother after her health declined.

Yasmine failed because of her sacrifice for her mother. So what happens to her value now?

Truthfully, one of the ways to measure the value of something is by looking at how much a person is willing to pay or sacrifice for this thing.

Look at what the Bible says about the price that was paid for you.

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.” (1 Peter 1:18-19)

“He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all — how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)

So, your value is in what God has done for you, not in what you achieve, be it an honorable achievement or not. He sees you in a different way, and nothing you do can change that.

You are known and loved by God, and have an indescribable worth in His eyes, not related to what you achieve, but to what He has done for you.
