I feel lonely when I am alone

Maybe it happens when you are walking home alone or lying in bed at night.

Thoughts can come rushing in to make you feel isolated and alone.

You consider the things you said or did that put a distance between you and others.
You reflect on all of the things that you don’t think about when you’re around other people.
But the truth is that you are never really alone…
“O LORD, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.
You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether.”
Psalm 139:1-4

Alone with our thoughts

It is often when we are alone that we begin to think of things bigger than what we had to eat or what we will wear tomorrow.
Who am I?
Why am I here?
Is there a God?
What is He like?
There is no part of you that is hidden from God, no thought or action that he does not know about. God pursues us with his love. He wants us to know that he is near and ready to offer grace and mercy.
He has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Hebrews 13:5
